STORY OF THE SEASON

For the eSM Drift Championship 2026 season, there were a few small changes to the AI judging values and the racing car rules, where the engine inertia was determined to be 0.8 in all of them. For the 2026 season, all drivers who had registered for the 2025 season remained official drivers of the series and all new drivers who wanted to become drivers of the series and participate in the season, this cost them 5 euros. Cash prizes were left out this time, and the prize was the famous fame and glory of the driver, the team and the nationality of the series championships.

In the 2026 season, the competitions were live-streamed and hosted once again by Jukka Valkonen, Mika Vilen's lead partner. Jukka Hautanen was responsible for the competition management and Juusto Strandberg took care of making the courses and marking the scores of the competitions.

The 2026 season consisted of a shakedown practice race and 7 rounds. The season started in November 2025 and ended the following year in February 2026. The competitions were held every 2 weeks. A total of 24 drivers, 10 teams and 9 different nationalities competed in the season.

The 2026 season was clearly the hay of one man and a team. Tommi Luukkanen took the driver's championship with 4 qualify and 4 race wins with 1059 series points, carrying 200kg extra weight in the round 7 final and still driving to 4th place in that too. Thanks to these performances, Räntsilä Motorsport Team, led by Tommi Luukkanen and Teemu Sivonen, won the easy team series championship with a solid 1881 series points. Finland again took a crushing victory in the national championship with 5635 points, with 10 Finns collecting series points in the points pot and TOP5 drivers in the championship was all finns.
